Payton Baran spent nearly a decade as a financial statement auditor, then another decade building software for accounting firms, financial institutions, and law firms. He launched AuditPro in late 2024 to fix the problems he lived with as an auditor: work that was complex, hard to do, and slow.

Payton had seen what happens without that discipline. At his first company, launched in 2012, he worked with an outside development team he did not know well. Problems surfaced only after code reached production, when they were most visible and most expensive to fix.
